Rumah Hujan - ‘House of Rain’
An elegant 3-bedroom villa perched on the edge above the river Wos, overlooking the lush tropical valley. Designed using locally sourced materials, including volcanic stones and reclaimed timber drawing on the principles of sustainable approaches. On a property of 2,400 sqm, the house itself has a floor surface of approximately 300 sqm, extensive outdoor patios and a 12x4m heated pool.
The living and dining room, sharing a lofty space, are the heart of the house. At its center, two oversized linen sofas and a hammock provide a place of relaxation, and the dining table seats 10 people.
Daytimes can be spent out on the large timber deck next to the large heated, mild saltwater infinity pool, which drops dramatically off to the valley below, and see and hear only the forest.
BEDROOMS
Three large bedrooms, each with ensuite bathrooms, are equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fans and linen mosquito nets to ensure a restful sleep. All are designed facing East, with pool access, to make the most of the golden morning light.

To the gentle whir of the wooden ceiling fan, sink back into soft linens, in a queen-size bed under a billowy mosquito canopy. Melati is a room furnished in restful tones and natural materials, with space for a large wooden writing desk and chair overlooking the gardens. Start each morning under the outdoor rain shower, surrounded by the sounds, scents and greenery of the jungle flora.

A king-sized bed, under a soft linen mosquito net hung from the canopy roof rafters, sits in the centre of
Rimba - the largest of all three bedrooms. The room’s interiors and furniture evoke its surrounding natural environment, with a carved wooden console, hardwood timber floor and woven wardrobes. After an outdoor shower under the stars, settle in on the sofa to enjoy movie nights on the inbuilt TV.

Located at the end of the house, Raja is the most private of all the bedrooms, yet is surrounded on three sides by glass. Waking each day in its king-sized bed, this gives you the sense of being totally immersed in nature. Raja’s earthy hues and furniture complement its sister rooms, whilst also giving access to a walk-in wardrobe, and the option of an indoor bathtub in which to contemplate the natural environment, or an outdoor shower to be among it.
