Wayan Kresna Yasa is an award-winning Balinese chef who has built a formidable career in Indonesia and the US. Having trained for years in Michelin-rated kitchens in New York and Chicago, Chef Wayan is best known for his inspired signature cooking style marrying classical French cooking technique with Southeast Asian flavors.
In 2022, his book, PAON: Real Balinese Cooking, was published globally by Hardie Grant Books with Co-Author Maya Kerthyasa. In Bali, he owns and operates HOME by Chef Wayan, a popular Indonesian café located in the west coastal village of Pererenan.
Most recently, Chef Wayan was asked to curate and cook the menu for the G20 Indonesia Official Spouse Program 2022. The luncheon was hosted by the First Lady of the Republic of Indonesia and prepared for the Spouses of Heads of State attending the G20 Summit in November.
In 2018 FoodieS Magazine awarded Kresna Yasa “Chef of the Year,” while Exquisite Magazine awarded him “Best Indonesian Restaurant” for Kaum. Other restaurants Chef Wayan has helped launch in Bali are Room4Dessert Ubud with chef-owner Will Goldfarb, Ijen and Tanaman for hospitality lifestyle brand Potato Head. Tanaman was listed as one of the Best New Restaurants in the World by Condé Nast Traveller magazine in June 2020.
